Serenity Premier

Friday, September 30th, 2005

Tonight is the premier of Joss Whedon’s new movie called Serenity which is based on his Firefly series. The movie is named after the space ship in the TV series. This movie has me tingling! After all the crappy movies of the summer, finally something worth going to see.

Even though I haven’t seen it and have plans to go see it with friends next week I really do suggest everybody watches the Firefly episodes first. The entire season of DVD’s are on sale at Future Shop this week - but don’t worry, it’s only one box because Fox cancelled it.

You can see the trailer on Apples site for a preview. The New York Times said this film was even better than the latest Star Wars flick, so go see it!

Kaylee is my favorite, a strong - but sensitive woman who likes machines, gadgets and all kinds of geeky nerdy things. My kind of girl.

Engineering: Why Is Undergrad Life So Hard?

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

I was reading slashdot and saw this article by an engineering drop-out.

It made me laugh at first with the description as I almost knocked myself out by nodding my head so hard, but by the end of the article I started to realize how poorly we really were treated. I was going against the grain the entire time and in doing so I’ve runined part of my health and a bit of my happiness.

Sure there were good teachers mixed in with great researchers but the way the dynamics play out researchers at McMaster will always win - which means Undergrad Engineers will always be swimming up stream.

New Beginnings

I am leaving behind the old Nucleus CMS and starting fresh with WordPress.

It seemed like the right thing to do now that I’m moving on to different things in my life. It is always good to do a rm -rf every now and then and start from scratch. But not to worry, I haven’t deleted my old blog. I’m just moving it off to the side, once a URL is settled on I’ll post that as a “school blog” link.

Things are slowly changing, and a lot of the “features” of my blog you may have enjoyed in the past will slowly come back as I figure out how to do them in this new system.
