Would I Have To Implement It?

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

I’m going to see the Yankees vs. Jays game tonight at the Rogers Center. Should be a pretty good game, and apparently the Jays have a pretty good team on paper. I’m looking forward to it.

Banana Bread

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

You just need some old bananas and you’re pretty much in business.

From the kitchen of Gramie and Barb Ness.

3 Banana’s Cut Up
1 Cup White Sugar
2 1/2 Cups Flour
1/3 Cup Vegtable Oil
3 Tea Spoons Baking Powder
1 Egg
1/2 Tea Spoon Salt
1/2 Cup Milk
3/4 Cup Walnuts (But not for Lauren)

Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add nuts, set aside.

Put into blender sugar, oil, egg, bananas and milk.
Blend until well mixed.
Grease 5×3x9″ loaf pan.
Bake at 350°F for 1 hour (convection: 300°F for 1 hour)
Cool in pan for 20 minutes, remove from pan and cool on a rack.

Makes 1 loaf or 22-24 large muffins.

We’ll see how it turns out, the loaf is in the oven right now.

Network Upgrade

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

My Father replaced the router in his home network which caused this web/mail/file server to have a weekend of downtime. Luckily Lauren and I went for dinner in Niagara and I updated the network configuration to bring the system back online.

Doug bought a Linksys router (brought to you by Cisco) and he thinks it’s faster. Which it likely is since the router runs on a GNU/Linux core. I had to update the network config of the new server since Dlink uses a different subnet than the default Linksys install. Doug was pretty impressed that the Linksys was plug and play — DHCP kicked in and all the windows boxes found the new network, leaving my static IP linux machine off the network, and unexposed to the external IP.

Since you’re reading this — the problem is fixed.
